The Fantastic Four is Disney’s most explicit pro-life film

the fantastic four disney pro life

A surprising choice by Disney to focus “The Fantastic Four” on unborn life, the value of its protection, and authentic family bonds. They had never dared so much before, aligning themselves with the trend of other major companies.

On July 23rd, Marvel’s latest film, distributed by Disney, was also released in Italy.

This is the latest saga of “The Fantastic Four – The Beginning”, a positive surprise for the deeply pro-life and pro-family message it conveys. Certainly unexpected.

The new cinematic adaptation dominated the box office last weekend in terms of earnings.

A pregnancy to protect

The story revolves around the couple Reed Richards and Sue Storm, whose long-awaited pregnancy announcement becomes the emotional heart of the narrative.

Anyone who has already gone to the cinema will surely have appreciated the scene where Reed lays his hand on Sue’s belly and uses his superpowers to reveal the unborn child: not just a mass of cells, but a small baby with a nose, ears, and fingers. Full of rights to life and immense value.

Sue Storm’s pregnancy is the centre of the cinematic plot, not a secondary narrative element. Just as she goes into labour, the Fantastic Four must face a cosmic threat and protect Franklin’s birth.

A moment that combines spectacle and tenderness, with the superhero family immersed in battle witnessing the premature birth.

A strong pro-life message

The message emerging from the film is that the unborn child has not only a symbolic role, but a real one: moral issues and collective reactions revolve around the idea that there is something sacred in protecting that life.

A central moment is Galactus’ ultimatum to Earth: hand over the baby or sacrifice the planet.

The protagonists’ response is a firm refusal, followed by a scene where Sue, holding Franklin in her arms and facing an angry crowd demanding the child, declares: «I will not sacrifice my son for this world».

We won’t add more to avoid spoiling too much for those who will go to the cinema.

Disney and “The Fantastic Four”: a surprise

At the US box office, the global opening of $218 million has already positioned Disney’s “The Fantastic Four” as one of the flagship titles of 2025, also helping to ease the “superhero fatigue” mood.

After years of controversial messages, Marvel and Disney seem to be changing tone with what has been called “Hollywood’s most pro-life superhero movie ever made.”

A few days ago we highlighted Nike’s choice to celebrate fatherhood, preceded by Volvo and Apple.

Evidently, this is no longer a casual exception: major companies are beginning to refocus not on propaganda, but on what truly matters: the simple beauty of human life, family, and the courage to protect them.
