The Esoteric Influencer Discovers Christ “Thanks” to Illness

Josée-Anne Sarazin-Côté

A French influencer moves from esotericism to God. Multiple sclerosis opened her eyes to the essential, finding in prayer peace and happiness she had never known before.

Crystals, astrology, ayahuasca, esoteric rituals, divinatory practices, and even “channelings”.

This was the world of a famous French influencer, Josée-Anne Sarazin-Côté, who ran a thriving esoteric business based on courses, tarot, books, and esoteric spiritual retreats.

Then, during a hippie trip to Costa Rica in 2021, fate abruptly brought her back to reality: primary progressive multiple sclerosis.

A rare and relentless neurological disease, which in a short time left her blind, in a wheelchair, and with severe motor limitations.

A breaking point that for Sarazin-Côté became the great crossroads of her life. On Le Verbe she is described as “the witch who became Christian“.

A story somewhat similar to that of Kathy Wolf, whom we talked about a few months ago.

The influencer moves from esotericism to Christ

Despite growing skepticism, the woman continued to adhere to esotericism to satisfy her thousands of followers on social media.

Her Instagram photos show her amidst nature, always smiling and happy. But she herself reveals how much fiction there was behind these shots: «Many people idealized me, but in reality I was unhappy and stressed because of my work. I was very focused on appearance and superficiality».

With the disease, suddenly, she no longer cared about zodiac signs, Mercury’s moods, or the energies of crystals. False idols that millions of people kneel to and rely on.

During an esoteric meditation in a forest, the woman distinctly and suddenly perceived a clear word: “Pray to Jesus”. «It seemed very strange to me, but I had nothing to lose, so I tried it», she confesses.

Thus began an inner dialogue with Christ from which, to her great surprise, emerged «an inner peace like I had never experienced before».

With renewed hope for life, Josée-Anne was able to access a stem cell transplant that successfully reversed the symptoms of her disease.

But the greatest gift is the regained happiness, moreover freely. «I learned that Christian faith requires nothing but faith and grace», she says. «Nothing else, there are no programs, crystals, or miracle products to make you happy. It is completely free».

Illness as circumstance, not as “bad luck”

Illness is seen by many as “bad luck”, an injustice. Sometimes as an objection to the existence of a good God. For Josée-Anne Sarazin-Côté, it was a blessing, a circumstance for a greater good.

Certainly «the illness is very hard», she recounts, «but it allowed me to move away from esotericism, to close the business that was slowly killing me, and to be much more present in my life, in motherhood. Yes, it is difficult, but it changed my life for the better», aware that «our faith is forged in suffering and purified in trials».

The woman, besides dedicating herself to her daughter, continues to manage her blog and videos – which now have a completely different tone from the past. She stopped seeking approval and success; paradoxically, the disease gave her back life and motherhood, and gifted her faith.
