The meeting brought together <strong>347 bishops<\/strong> and 121 lay and clergy representatives from 27 provinces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On that occasion, GAFCON challenged the role of structures linked to Canterbury, claiming to represent <strong>the continuity of Anglicanism faithful<\/strong> to Scripture and the tradition of the Reformation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gafcon.org\/communique-updates\/a-home-for-our-communion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official statement<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, Archbishop Mbanda explicitly spoke of a <i>&#8220;new chapter&#8221;<\/i> and of the intention to <i>&#8220;<strong>reorganize<\/strong> the Anglican Communion.&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new headquarters will be more than an administrative center.
