She let go of hatred and converted.<\/i><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the <strong>women of Hamas<\/strong> leaves hatred behind and discovers the Christian faith.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is the incredible story of <mark><strong>Juman Al Qawasmi<\/strong><\/mark>, a young Palestinian woman linked by family background and marriage to the terrorist organization Hamas, raised in an <strong>environment of hatred<\/strong> toward Israel and Christians.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A hostility that she says was <strong>taught from childhood<\/strong> as part of one&#8217;s identity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Juman Al Qawasmi, one of the wives of Hamas<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Born and raised in Qatar, her father was one of the <strong>founders of Hamas<\/strong> and she was married for thirteen years, between 2002 and 2015, to <strong>Muhammad Kawasmi<\/strong> (known as Abu Jaffar), a leader of the Islamist organization.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She moved to <strong>Gaza<\/strong> in 2002 and personally experienced the overthrow of control of the Strip in 2007.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many Palestinians, as happened a few weeks ago after the end of the war with Israel, were killed by Hamas for <strong>power consolidation<\/strong> and with the aim of <strong>terrorizing<\/strong> the inhabitants to gain control.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>\u201cI saw <strong>what we were doing<\/strong> after taking control of Gaza,\u201d<\/i> she says in an interview. <i>\u201cWe had promised justice and equality, but we only brought <strong>fear and corruption<\/strong>. I even voted for them in the 2006 elections, and today I am ashamed of it.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was this wave of violence that made her realize that <i>\u201c<strong>something was wrong<\/strong> with the religion I was raised in.\u201d<\/i> Also because, she continues, <i>\u201cI never felt at peace. I was always <strong>afraid<\/strong> of hell, of judgment, of punishment after death. They are considered a possible form of <strong>divine communication<\/strong>, rooted in the Qur\u2019an, prophetic tradition (<i>hadith<\/i>), and Islamic history.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are countless stories told by Christian missionaries in which, <strong>suddenly<\/strong>, a Muslim decides to meet them and change perspective after having <strong>dreamed of Jesus<\/strong> or received from Him an unexpected message.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That is exactly what happened to Juman herself after turning her thoughts to <strong>Allah<\/strong> without ever having had the figure of Christ in mind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One night, she says, she dreamed she was with her mother who had died years before. The sky was bright, the moon drew near, and from it suddenly appeared the face of Jesus. <i>\u201cHe spoke to me in Arabic, saying that He was <strong>Yeshua<\/strong>: \u2018You are my daughter, do not be afraid.\u2019\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For her, it was something <strong>overwhelming<\/strong> because <i>\u201cI had never known Christians and had <strong>never heard<\/strong> the name \u2018Yeshua.\u2019 In the Qur\u2019an we call Him Isa; I had never heard of Him. But that name sounded so beautiful to me, and for the first time in my life, I <strong>felt peace<\/strong>. I felt loved, truly loved.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The conversion and change of perspective<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So she searched online for information about this <strong>Yeshua<\/strong> and found an Egyptian Christian web page. <i>\u201cThe first verse I read said: <strong>\u2018Love your enemies.\u2019<\/strong> I was shocked: in the Qur\u2019an it speaks of killing your enemies, not loving them. I understood that this God was different.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Juman got in touch with the page administrator, discovering that <i>\u201cthousands of Muslims were <strong>dreaming of Jesus<\/strong> and converting. I was not alone.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From that moment her <strong>political view<\/strong> of Hamas and Israel also changed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the interview she claims that it is <strong>Hamas<\/strong> that has always started and provoked conflicts, recounting the <strong>peaceful coexistence<\/strong> with Jews until <i>\u201cHamas intervenes.\u201d<\/i> In the <strong>Qur\u2019an<\/strong>, she adds, <i>\u201cthere is never any mention of Palestine but of the land of the children of Israel.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The young woman also explains Hamas\u2019 use of funds arriving in Gaza to <strong>build underground tunnels<\/strong> instead of shelters for civilians, and children being used as human shields. Reports of this have also emerged in recent years of conflict, during which, as we recall, more than <strong>20,000 children<\/strong> have died, largely due to Israeli attacks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>\u201cHamas does not defend Gaza, <strong>Hamas is the enemy of Gaza<\/strong>,\u201d<\/i> the woman emphasizes. <i>\u201cIt teaches children to hate, to fight, fills their heads with violence.
