A few months ago, there were other small signs of a real change in mindset.<\/i><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">No more asterisks and schwa in <strong>Germany<\/strong> either.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The decision was <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zeit.de\/politik\/deutschland\/2025-08\/genderverbot-wolfram-weimer-museen-stiftungen-rundfunk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">made<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by German Minister of Culture Wolfram Weimer, who has banned the use of <b><mark>woke-inclusive language<\/b><\/mark> in official communications from his ministry.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The Minister of Culture bans woke language<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The regulation requires the approximately <strong>470 employees of the ministry<\/strong>, with offices in Berlin and Bonn, to abandon forms such as <strong>asterisks<\/strong>, internal capitals, schwa, or colons, and instead adopt standard German, according to the guidelines of the German Spelling Council.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A return to a communication model that prioritizes <strong>clarity and unity<\/strong>, based on the belief that language should unite rather than divide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Weimer, who described woke-inclusive language as a <strong>forcing<\/strong> that does not reflect the natural way most people speak, also extends his call to museums, foundations, and public media, emphasizing a \u201cshared responsibility\u201d to maintain a communication code accessible to all citizens.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A stance that fits <strong>within a broader framework<\/strong>, already outlined by some L\u00e4nder such as Bavaria and Saxony, which in recent years have banned the use of such gender markers in schools and public administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Germany, ongoing signs of a change in mindset<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A few weeks ago, also in <strong>Germany<\/strong>, it was the current Minister for Education and Family, Karin Prien, who <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uccronline.it\/2025\/07\/04\/ohibo-che-sta-succedendo-in-germania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">banned<\/a><\/em><\/strong> her officials from using <strong>gender asterisks<\/strong>, commonly employed in the (supposedly) inclusive language introduced by woke culture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In <strong>Germany<\/strong>, signs are beginning to add up pointing to a real shift in ideological direction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Consider, for instance, the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uccronline.it\/2025\/07\/04\/ohibo-che-sta-succedendo-in-germania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">decision<\/a><\/em><\/strong> of Chancellor <strong>Friedrich Merz<\/strong> to ban the LGBT+ flag from the Parliament fa\u00e7ade and the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uccronline.it\/2025\/08\/11\/lospedale-di-flensburg-germania-dice-stop-agli-aborti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">withdrawal<\/a><\/em><\/strong> of jurist <strong>Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf<\/strong> from running for a seat as Constitutional Court judge due to the intense controversy sparked by her strongly progressive ethical views.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The decision to ban woke-inclusive language comes from the Minister of Culture, Wolfram Weimer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":61822,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"iawp_total_views":33,"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[1721,1399,1723,1724,1726,1722,1725],"class_list":["post-61820","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-asterisks","tag-germany","tag-inclusive-language","tag-schwa-language","tag-weimer-wolfram","tag-woke-germany","tag-woke-language"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.6 -
