{"id":304,"date":"2014-02-14T07:30:12","date_gmt":"2014-02-14T07:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.uccronline.it\/eng\/?p=304"},"modified":"2014-01-08T21:26:51","modified_gmt":"2014-01-08T21:26:51","slug":"304","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uccronline.it\/eng\/2014\/02\/14\/304\/","title":{"rendered":"Pope Francis\u2019 judgment: \u201cthe family is between man and woman\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/new.uccronline.it\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Papa-francesco.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-305\" alt=\"Papa francesco\" src=\"http:\/\/new.uccronline.it\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Papa-francesco-300x185.jpg\" width=\"216\" height=\"133\" \/><\/a>Speaking to reporters on a flight back from the World Youth Day in Brazil, <strong>Pope Francis<\/strong> reaffirmed the Roman Catholic Church&#8217;s position condemning sin, not sinners. <em><a href=\"http:\/\/new.uccronline.it\/2013\/08\/08\/francesco-apre-ai-gay-la-chiesa-non-condanna-mai-il-peccatore\/\" target=\"_blank\">He explained<\/a>: \u00abIf a person is gay and seeks God and has good will, <strong>who am I to judge<\/strong>? The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains this very well, they should not be marginalised because of this but that they must be integrated into society\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If this is the position of the Church regarding our gay brothers, <strong>the Pope\u2019s view on marriage and family<\/strong> was delivered a month later with the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vatican.va\/holy_father\/francesco\/messages\/pont-messages\/2013\/documents\/papa-francesco_20130911_settimana-sociale-cattolici_en.html\" target=\"_blank\">message of the pontiff<\/a><\/em> during the 47th Social Week for Italian Catholics: <em>\u00abthe Church offers a concept of the family rooted in the Book of Genesis, which is based on the <strong>complementariness between men and women<\/strong>, and the fertility of this union. In this fact we identify a common good, the first natural society, as also defined in the Constitution of the Italian Republic\u00bb<\/em>, explains Francis. <em>\u00abWe want to <strong>reaffirm that the family<\/strong> understood in this way is still the first and foremost subject to build society and the economy on a human scale, and as such deserves to be actively supported\u00bb<\/em>. To support all this faith is not essential: <em>\u00abthese reflections do <strong>not interest only believers<\/strong> but all people of good will, all those who care about the common good of their country\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Like Pope Benedict, even Francis pointed his finger against the <em>\u00ab<strong>consequences, positive or negative<\/strong>, implied by our cultural and political choices regarding the family\u00bb<\/em>.
