These and other ones are the usual statements by pro-gay psychiatrist <strong><u>Vittorio Lingiardi<\/u><\/strong>, Professor at the Sapienza University in Rome. All balderdash, at least according to an <strong>Australian study<\/strong>, saying that the causes prevalently derive from the higher incidence of relationship problems amongst homosexuals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. <strong>Delaney Skerrett<\/strong>, from the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention at the Griffith University,\u00a0led a group of researchers studying suicides, so as to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.1111\/appy.12128\">discover that<\/a><\/em> the main cause of suicide amongst<strong> \u201c<\/strong>lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex\u201d (LGBTI) individuals is the <strong>stress<\/strong> <strong>deriving<\/strong> from their partners. \u00ab<em>We tend to assume that the psychological distress LGBTI people are often going through is due to family rejection. But it seems that\u2019s not so much the case. The conflict seems to be largely related to relationship problems, with partners<\/em>\u00bb \u2013 declared the scientist.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The causes of suicide and depression inside the homosexual community are unfortunately <strong>more complex<\/strong> than gay activists admit. They \u00ab<em>Pro-homosexual activists have long given a single explanation for the high rates of physical and mental health problems among those who engage in homosexual relationships<\/em>\u00bb \u2013 <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/homosexuals-more-likely-to-commit-suicide-due-to-problems-with-gay-lovers-t\">commented<\/a><\/em> <strong>Peter S. Sprigg<\/strong>, researcher at the Family Research Council in Washington. \u00ab<em>They blame it on <strong>&#8216;homophobia<\/strong>,&#8217; the <strong>&#8216;stigma&#8217;<\/strong> which they suffer at the hands of society, and the &#8216;rejection&#8217; they suffer from <strong>family<\/strong> members who disapprove of such conduct.<\/em> <em>Scientific research, however, has never supported this one-size-fits-all explanation for the serious pathologies experienced by homosexuals<\/em>\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, the research has confirmed several previous studies having <em><a href=\"http:\/\/lasvegas.cbslocal.com\/2012\/10\/10\/study-domestic-violence-rates-higher-among-gay-men-bisexual-women\/\">discovered<\/a><\/em> that gays face very high rates of <strong>violence from their partners<\/strong> \u2013 higher than heterosexuals. For example, in 2007 a study published \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007%2Fs11524-007-9188-0\">on the\u00a0<em>Journal of Urban Health\u00a0<\/em><\/a>by the New York Academy of Medicine found out that no less than <strong>32%<\/strong> of homosexuals had been abused by at least one partner in their life, whilst other <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/9403987\">studies<\/a><\/em> even talk about <strong>47.5%<\/strong> of lesbians. Besides, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/new.uccronline.it\/2016\/05\/24\/anche-nella-svezia-gay-friendly-il-tasso-di-suicidi-omosessuali-e-tre-volte-maggiore\/\">it was found out<\/a><\/em> in the Countries commonly defined as <strong>gay-friendly<\/strong> the suicide rates of the persons with homosexual tendencies is, unfortunately, the same.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Editorial Staff<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Gay discrimination leads to suicide&#8221;.
